Summary - COVID-19 has affected the lives of
students worldwide. At tough times like this, Invertis University is trying its best to ensure that the career of
the students does not take a break.
Coronavirus or COVID-19 has affected the life of every
person regardless of what they do and where they live. In just a couple of
weeks, it has also changed the way education is provided to students in the
world. There have been mixed responses on whether these changes are for the
better or for the worse. As the coronavirus
is spreading rapidly across the United States, the Middle East, Europe, and
Asia, countries like India are taking decisive and swift actions for mitigating
the development of this global pandemic. In the past month, multiple
announcements have been made for suspending classes at schools as well as
universities. Invertis University
has taken various initiatives to ensure the continuation of the studies.
Online education has
become a way to help the students continue their studies in the middle of this
global crisis. Keeping in mind the change in the education system caused by the
outbreak of the novel coronavirus,
the Management of Invertis University has decided that they will be running
online lectures to make sure that the studies are not affected. Students are
required to attend online lectures regularly from their respective homes. These
steps have been taken by keeping in mind the current Lockdown status in the
country because of the COVID-19.
Invertis University has also been organizing guest lectures using video
conferencing. On 28th March 2020, the Department of BBA & B.Com utilized
the video conferencing technology for organizing a guest lecture on “Various
Aspects of Industry Mentored Project and Procedure of Financial Modeling”. The
guest lecturer Prof. Pravin Reddy from BSE Institute Ltd., Mumbai joined the
conference from his home to deliver the lecture to the students.
Another guest lecture was
organized by the Department of Pharmacy of Invertis
University. The online lecture on the “Quality Control of drugs &
Industrial Pharmacy” was organized through video conferencing by the Quality
Control Head of the Hetero Drugs Ltd. Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, Mr Pankaj
Maurya. He helped the students learn about the new methods and equipment used
for quality control in the Pharmaceutical industry. The lecture was conducted
under the supervision of Assistant Professor, Ms Maulshree Bhandari. It was
also joined by Prof. Y.D.S Arya (Vice-Chancellor of the university), Prof. R.K.
Shukla (Dean), and Dr Himanshu Joshi (Head of the Department). They added how
the online lecture was a great initiative by the department to help the
students learn about the Quality Control of Drugs and the Pharmaceutical
industry.
Online classes conducted by
the Institute require students to attend and participate in quiz sessions. They
can finish coursework on their own time but will be required to meet deadlines.
Regular short tests will also be conducted to improve student engagement. For
students who are finding it difficult to embrace these new changes, Invertis
University is promoting new methods of innovating the education system. Right
now, it is too soon to judge exactly how much the COVID-19 has affected the education systems across the globe.
However, we are hopeful that the changes and initiatives that are currently
made will help our students to grow into creative citizens, ready to shape the
future.
