Vegetable
prices are surging and the country needs the help of educated agriculturists
like never before. Hoarding by middlemen, acute weather conditions, and deplete
in the number of agriculturists itself are some of the reasons for the price
peaks of vegetables. While price regulation can be controlled by the
government, acute weather conditions like a flood, etc. cannot be regulated by
the government.
The decrease in the number of agriculturists is a challenge that needs to be
addressed on a more serious note. Several issues plague the farming department
of the country and might need a humongous amount of initiatives to change the
current scenario of agriculture in the country. A major chunk of youth in the
country is getting educated in various fields and moving away from the
traditional ways of livelihood.
